Alain Talbot is a visual artist whose practice brings together painting, sculpture and mixed-media techniques. For several decades he has explored material, forms and textures in a constant search for balance between the painterly gesture and sculptural presence.

His work is rooted in material. He shapes surfaces, hollows them out, layers them and works them until relief, depth and movement emerge. Each work carries its own intention, in a language at once sensitive, structured and expressive.

In his creations, light reveals subtleties, textures and the power of relief. His pieces emanate a sober, powerful presence, where emotion is conveyed through material as much as through form.
