Gérard Larouche

Ceramist, painter, and sculptor, Gérard Larouche works with clay as a field of freedom. Since his beginnings in ceramics in 2004, he has explored the possibilities of the material, blending in his interest in sculpture, painting, collage, and recycled materials.

Raku firing holds a significant place in his approach. It allows him to play with contrasts, deep blacks, cracked surfaces, metallic effects, and the unexpected elements that give each piece its unique character. For him, breakages, artifacts, and material accidents often become starting points for evolving the work.

Inspired by nature, organic textures, and at times a fantastical imagination, Gérard Larouche creates sculptural pieces full of relief and curiosity. Characters, animals, abstract forms, or staged scenes come to life in a whimsical, poetic, and free universe, where each creation invites interpretation.
