Marie Robitaille

Marie Robitaille

Marie Robitaille, a Quebec-based recycling artist, has been creating unique works since 1994 using old watches, clocks, and jewelry. Fascinated by the beauty of forgotten mechanisms, she breathes new life into gears, dials, hands, and the meticulous details of watchmaking.
"The gears, the dials, the engraving inside, the delicate hands - in short, all the watchmaker's work done with such patience and precision - opened up to me, to my great delight," she says.
Her eco-responsible approach transforms the discarded into the desirable. Planetariums, frames, pendants, brooches, and earrings become creations imbued with history, where each component evokes time, memory, and the hidden beauty of antique objects.
With her art "unMADE and remade in Quebec," Marie Robitaille brings the past and present into dialogue in works that are at once nostalgic, poetic, and resolutely contemporary.
