Sandra Veillette
Born in Amos, Quebec, Sandra Veillette is a visual artist whose world is deeply connected to nature. Her childhood spent in the heart of Abitibi's vast landscapes fostered an intimate bond with the natural world, a presence that continues to resonate throughout her artistic process.
From elements gathered in nature-wood, plant fragments, mineral materials, or traces of the animal world-she creates singular characters, imbued with delicacy and poetry. Her process often begins with a found form, a material, a posture suggested by what nature offers her. She then assembles the elements with sensitivity to bring forth works full of presence.
Faceless, her characters leave ample room for interpretation. They speak through their posture, their movement, and their silence, inviting each viewer to project their own story onto them.
Sandra Veillette's works have been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions, notably at Galerie Orenda in Paris.
Her selection for the prestigious Chianciano Biennale 2026, in Tuscany, also confirms the international reach of her work. Organized by the Chianciano Art Museum and the team behind the London Art Biennale, this biennale has established itself as a leading international artistic platform. This selection is a wonderful recognition and testifies to the strength of her artistic approach.
